ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. PM-Grab General Help ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
PM-Grab lets you select a part of the screen and save it to a file in a number
of possible formats (i.e. OS/2 pointer, Windows bitmap, GIF,...) You can also
print the selected picture, or save it to the clipboard. You can select either
a rectangle or an entire window. These selections will place a dashed (or
solid) box around the selected area. Once this is done, you can select "Save"
or "Quick Save". "Save" will give you a dialog box where you can enter the
type and location of the picture file (or printer or clipboard). "Quick Save"
will save the file without showing a dialog box. To use "Quick Save" you need
to have done "Setup Quick Save" in the options menu. "Setup Quick Save" gives
you the same dialog as "Save". Once you have done "Setup Quick Save", every
time you do a "Quick Save", the picture will be saved with the options from the
"Setup Quick Save" dialog. One of the options is a file name counter. If this
option is on, then every file saved will have a different name by appending a
number to the end. If the file name counter option is not on, "Quick Save" will
write over the previous "Quick Saved" file. Setting up a hotkey sequence may
make PM-Grab easier and more flexible. For example, you cannot save a pulldown
menu by selecting a window or and area of the screen. When you select "Save"
or "Quick Save" the menu will disappear because of PM-Grab will get focus. A
hotkey sequence lets you save a picture while another window has focus. Some
times you need this as in the menu example. Other times it is just more
conveinent than having to go back and forth between a window you are saving
pictures from and PM-Grab's main window.
